REBRAND: PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO
Located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, the recently renovated PARCO is a commercial space, mainly a department store, that accommodate contemporary subjects. This department store values 5 main building blocks: fashion, art and culture, entertainment, food and technology. PARCO targets young and latest trends, including art and culture as one of their selling points. PARCO hosts various pop art and contemporary interests such as Nintendo and Capcom stores, Pokemon centre and more. PARCO Shibuya also has a space dedicated to art and cultures, which is the PARCO Museum Tokyo.
Reflecting upon the Shibuya crossing where people from all around the world and different directions intersect, similar to the museum itself which hosts a wide variety of artists and cultures, I decided to use crossing stripes as my main visuals. Inspired by Nonotak Studio whose projects use light arrangements, the stripes can be applied onto space using LED strips, creating a futuristic look which suits the ever-changing Tokyo.
