IL CATTIVO BAMBINO
“Il Cattivo Bambino follows the life of Stumpy, a gay man in his mid 20’s, whose life is turned upside down by the titular Il Cattivo Bambino, a naughty demon baby from Italy. Bambino’s introduction to Stumpy’s space begins a world of chaos, where nothing and no-one is safe.”
This collaborative project is a work in progress from ACMI-X + Ludo Studio Residency which started in September 2024. We are currently working towards finishing our trailer. The team, Bambini, is initially a group of 4: Miles Colubriale (lead artist), Vince Belcheff (lead writer), Yana Fidan (animator) and I.
My roles in this project are 2D frame-by-frame animator, 3D set designer and pattern-maker, and set and prop maker. I also helped with animation and character asset development, including storyboards, initial turnarounds and expression sheets. This project brought me fun challenges through tricky camera-tracking while animating on top of moving footage and by having to embrace a more playful and comedic action sequence.
